CAMPING FUN-RANDOM CAPE FUN

So we now have a seasonal camping site that is 30-40 mins off the Cape, so while the tourist are coming on the Cape we are happily leaving the chaos. We have met the other seasonal folks and have been enjoying it for sure!! Not too far from a great Outlet center and a Cracker Barrel ( a bit of home) not too many of those around here so that was a treat! and close to Boston. So we can relax but also go do more site seeing as well. Our neighbors have a golf cart that has a little more power and goes up to 40mph!! Ken, the owner told Abby to hop on and start learning to drive!!! I however did not want to partake and be on the cart with her!! Gary took the lead and was mister calm and Abby had so much fun doing it all wkend long!! Looks like Gary will be teaching her to drive in the future ( i was a nervous wreck!! lol)

And the traffic to leave the cape..goes on and on...our exit to our house is coming up shortly!!! glad to be in the fast lane!!!

Gary has been getting Red Sox tickets through work and we have gone to Fenway a few times! It never gets old for sure! This game was good because the Red Sox had quite a few homeruns!! Abby enjoyed it too!! Only at Fenway do they have not only hot dog vendors going up and down the stairs but "get your new england clam chowda" passed right down the row to you!!! Gotta love those Bostonians!!!

then on most nice days and wkends when not camping, turn down off our street and the ocean straight ahead!!

love when the gps looks like this...any further and we are in the ocean!!!

this particular day was nice out and Abby had homework and Gary was tired..I loaded up the beach chairs and Abby grabbed her bookbag and I, my book, and off we went (5 min drive) to our beach that is for residents only (permit on car required) this is nice so we dont get crowded out!! You can also pull your camper down by the ocean or your 4 wd and enjoy!! Now that would be my kind of camping!! Notice Gary went from his lazy boy at home to same position at the beach! Stayed for a few hours and then went home to have dinner! It was nice to get fresh air for sure and not have to go far!!

and lastly, while driving home from work there was a flashing sign that said "natural gas flame, no public danger"! Really!! So getting off the ramp I snapped a pic! It was very hot in the area and it sounded like a giant blow torch!!! Not sure what that was all about but found it very interesting!!! Smores anyone!!!

OVER THE RIVER...AND TO CAPE COD;) AND SUMMER YARD FUN

We often go off the Cape to grocery shop because it is a bit cheaper, the problem in summer is traffic traffic traffic. You can of course go off Cape on Fridays with no difficulty but if you are coming on to the Cape from noon on you will be sitting in traffic to get over either two lane bridge. We also can leave Sundays if it is early am..or you will be stuck trying to get off the Cape. It never ends...lol...peak season is a time when the local permanant residents wish for a tunnel that is for then and you have to have a permit..would be nice for sure...well normally i am in the drivers seat but we ventured out on Sat (which is okay anytime usually) and hubby was the driver so i decided to take you on a ride back to the cape (we went over the Bourne bridge this time but the Sagamore bridge is our usual one but was down to one lane-yikes-2 hour traffic jam-now resolved and back to 2 lanes!!)

Welcome to the Cape and Islands!!

this is when you start to keep your fingers crossed for traffic...yeah looking good..smooth sailing

now usually on fridays this is a five mile back up...uggh

love looking over to the canal and seeing the boats

coming up to the infamous rotary..better be ready to bolt and hope you live thru the terror!! lol

aww..never noticed the bushes before due to driving and trying not to get killed in the rotary traffic circle..so hard to explain unless you are subjected to it...i have mastered it out of necessity and quickly can recognize the others that have not..they have the deer caught in headlight look!! heheh

flower boxes done..thanks to team effort from hubby and ms abby

other bushes in full bloom..this weekend was beautiful..side note..when 30mins away the temp is 10- 20 degress higher and as we get closer to our home and the coast the degree drops and you can feel it..so nice..it was 85 and once home a nice 72-gotta love the sea breeze

finch sock is very popular!! the birds love it

decided to use the raise bed and plant some veggie..first time for us so wish us luck!

lettuce, onions, zucchuni, squash, cucumbers, green onions

A Little Home

So we are country music fans in our house and Rascal Flatts is among the favorites. They have a new CD out and we have it of course and when this song came on..you guessed it, I cried..lol...it just said what I have been feeling for a while...only a few more months until I get to see and be around my family!!! So excited and cant wait to go over that bridge off the Cape!! Sometimes you do just need a little home...the end of the song says it best for me..no matter where you roam or how grown you are....sometimes we all need a little home. So thankful for the home and childhood my parents gave us growing up...wouldnt trade it for the world! Every childhood memory for me is a wonderful one, full of vivid times I will never forget: from riding bikes on harbison road and using the mailboxes as stop signs, gettin my frst banna seat bike (hidden at the neighbors of course) and riding thinking my dad had the back still and realizing I was finally doing it on my own, to popcorn or homemade ice cream on a blanket in the back yard after our sat nite shower/hairwash before sun church and then watching The wonderful world of disney or waltons or little house..lol, to playing kickball, softball, any ball with all the kids in the neighbor hood and coming in right at dark time, and for me....
this pic means the most to me from my childhood...because...in our backyard was a swing and i would sit on that swing at night and listen to either music or nothing and look at the stars, but would look back in this window (on the house in harbison) and see not only the light on, but my father reading a book and knowing without any doubt that I am loved, safe and now after looking back, no matter what I did that my parents would always be there and love me no matter what....that is a memory i go too alot as time moves on..and very fast I might add...okay so now back to today:) the laundry needs done and the house needs cleaned...man sometimes i want to go back in time a be a kid...lol...
